Actor. Voice Coach. Voiceover Artist

Emma James is a London-based actor, voice coach and voiceover artist whose work spans performance, coaching and production.

She has performed in lead roles at some of the UK's most prestigious venues — including the Arts Theatre in the West End, Summerhall and The Young Vic at Edinburgh Festival, Shakespeare's Globe and the New Diorama — and has worked across theatre, film and audio since training at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance.

“My work has never been about changing voices. It’s about helping people come back to their own.”

Words from the Founder

After years as an actor, I know what it feels like to be under pressure: to perform, to be heard, to get it right. And I also know how easy it is to lose yourself in that. To push, to force, to disconnect from the body in order to ‘sound’ a certain way.

Everything shifted when I began working somatically, understanding the voice not just as sound, but as something deeply connected to breath, tension and the nervous system.

Now, my approach is grounded in that connection. I draw on my training in voice, yoga and the body to create a space where you can soften, listen and rebuild from a place that feels natural and sustainable.”

What makes these sessions different?

  • Emma’s work is built on both rigorous training and lived experience.

After a decade as a working actor, she completed a First Class MA in Voice Coaching and Teaching at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She now teaches at leading institutions including Mountview, Royal Central and Trinity Laban, while coaching actors, professionals and productions internationally.

But this isn’t about theory alone.

Her sessions translate high-level training into something practical, accessible and embodied. You’ll learn how your voice actually works, through breath, body and awareness, so the changes you make feel natural and sustainable. This is a space to understand your voice, not just train it.

To build a relationship with it that holds up in real, high-pressure moments.

  • Emma’s approach is grounded, practical and genuinely holistic.

With a background in yoga and personal training, she brings a deep understanding of the body into voice work, using somatic awareness and breathwork to support ease, release tension and unlock expression.

Rather than pushing for performance, sessions focus on creating the right conditions for your voice to emerge, regulated, supported and connected.

Her work is also intentionally inclusive. She creates a space that is welcoming for neurodiverse clients, second-language speakers, and anyone who hasn’t felt fully seen in more traditional training settings.

Because this isn’t just about technique. It’s about confidence, clarity and feeling at home in your voice.

  • Each session is tailored to you — your voice, your needs, and the environments you’re working in.

Whether you’re preparing for an audition, developing an accent, building vocal stamina, or simply wanting to feel more confident speaking, the work is always practical and relevant.

Sessions blend technical tools with body-led exploration. You might work with breath, movement, text or sound, always with a focus on what creates the most ease and impact for you.

Emma brings both her training and her experience as an actor into the room. She understands the pressure of performance and works in a way that feels supportive, responsive and clear.

    No rigid formulas. No one-size-fits-all.

Just focused, intuitive coaching that helps you access a voice you can rely on, in any room you step into.
